Aside from talking about Metamodern stuff, I’m also an artist. I’ve been working on quite a few pieces in the past week or so (okay maybe more than a week).
The goal of these was mainly to come up with an efficient and also good way of handling fills and colour planes. I think my sense of shapes in painting has improved but I still have a long way to go.
I also did an animated cycle over the past week…let’s see if Substack supports gifs…
Ahhhh…darn. Looks like I’ll have to do a video compilation when I’ve completed more of these.
In other news, I just published my first note on Substack Notes, and would love for you to join me there! It’s a feature on the Substack app, so you may want to download that if you haven’t already.
I will say, it’s more interesting and less toxic than old Twitter!
Notes is a new space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress, sketches, or quick questions.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Mosobot64 and the Modest Metamodernist, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Mosobot64 and the Modest Metamodernist can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Anyway, that’s all for now folks. Thanks for subscribing!
