Good morning from the gentle sunny region of southeast Vancouver. The warm weather continues, with odd pops of rain, just enough to keep the flowers blooming.
There are now lots of daisies on the ground and I also encountered some forget-me-nots.
I have some new art to talk about so let’s get into it!
Art of the Week
On the comic, I don’t have anything new to report because I’m at a part of the comic where I don’t want to give spoilers.
But what I can tell you is that I’ve finished another sketchbook this week! Here are the drawings I did to close it out.
I wasn’t quite satisfied with my witchy looking self so for the start of my next sketchbook, I found a witchy hat (which I will likely be getting from Etsy), complete with constellations, and drew myself with it on. Needless to say, I will be getting that hat.
I was also taking the opportunity to play with chromatic aberrations in the sketchbook. I may need to experiment with it some more via material studies.
Anyhow, onto the next topic!
Spirituality of the Week
This last Sunday and Monday were the two day festival of Thargelia, the celebration of the birth of the sacred twins Apollo and Artemis! I did a couple of videos on TikTok celebrating the event:
I also did a Mercury Day celebration for Hermes as part of my regular devotional rites.
This week overall has been a bit more restful though. I haven’t read any further into astrology (yet) and I haven’t mostly been trying to master the ideas I learned last week.
Reading of the Week
Today, I’m doing another 3 card reading with the Celestial Tarot, by Kay Steventon and Brian Clark, along with my labradorite astro dice.
This week, the celestial dice came up as Venus in Scorpio, which might imply that your most deeply held values and relationships are coming up against the shadows that you’ve kept hidden in your relationships.
I believe that Pluto calls upon us to release our sense of persecution and live openly. Perhaps you’ve been in fear of what other people think and haven’t let yourself embrace your deepest desires. Let it go! You’ll live more happily if you do.
For embodiment, the Celestial Tarot brought up Boötes, the nine of pentacles. Boötes was the son of Demeter and the inventor of agriculture, so this card is calling upon you to work at your craft and enjoy the fruit of your labours.
To embrace, we have the Prince of Cups, mutable water. Corresponding in the RWS to the Knight of Cups, the Prince of Cups is calling upon us to embrace our emotive and creative side, and not be afraid to express ourselves.
To end this reading, I offer a poem:
“Fear not, for the Judgement has passed,
Son of Demeter, take joy in your work!
Collect sweet fruits, and let the taste
Explode into sweet songs of emotion.”
If you’d like a reading of your own, I offer them on Ko-Fi! Just look up Metamagickian.
Conclusion
Well, I believe that adequately captures what I have for this week, thank you so much for joining me! Have an excellent week, and I look forward to writing for you next week, here in the Atelier!
I loved the colored sketch you drew yourself with the witchy hat 😄
