Good morning again from sunny Vancouver! It’s been a wonderful week full of adventure for me, as I saw my friend off at a ferry and saw one of the historical trolleys of the city on my way back.
I also attended the grand opening of a new Fresh Slice branch here in the Kitsilano neighbourhood, and won a gift card there for some free pizza.
It’s also been a lovely art week for me, so let’s get into it!
Art of the Week
This week I started on a small, fun animation project-Le Poisson Steve!
It’s a funny meme that’s been going around the internet for the past couple months, using a funny and simple French song about an orange fish named Steve.
I’ll be including the full rough draft of the animation and all the character designs in an exclusive paid post so keep an eye out for that if you’re a paying member. If not, consider getting a paid subscription-I love to offer behind the scenes process and art to my paying members.
Spirituality of the Week
It wasn’t a huge event filled week for me spiritually, I mostly just kept up with reading and practices.
In terms of progress, I’ve read about aspects of planets in astrology, in April Elliot Kent’s book, The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology, but I think I need to re-read it. Aside from Trines, Conjunctions and Oppositions, I don’t remember the possible aspects of planets on a person’s chart, and this is something I want to get a better feel for if I plan on starting to practice astrology.
I’m also still practicing my meditation using the techniques I’ve been learning in Mat Auryn’s book Psychic Witch, and I may be ready to continue learning methodologies from it soon.
(As a rule I tend to juggle multiple books at once these days. Aside from those two I’m also re-reading The Corpus Hermeticum and reading Greg Dember’s Say Hello to Metamodernism! I do this so that I can absorb a little knowledge at a time from one book, then switch to something non book related so that the knowledge sets in, then I might pick up another book later.)
Reading of the Week
It’s another 3-card tarot reading this week, with the Celestial Tarot by Kay Steventon and Brian Clark, plus my Astro dice.
Astro Dice: South Node in Taurus. This will relate to what you might need to let go of in the material and sensual sense.
Release: Three of Wands (Perseus). Time to move on from your triumph and do the next step. It’s not all about the accolades-follow through is important as well.
Embody: Princess of Wands (Summer). It’s time to embrace your creative fire and your enjoyment of the season! Follow your bliss, and lean into what you most love doing.
Embrace: Nine of Swords (Canis Minor). I suspect your future will involve you overthinking things and being generally worried. I wouldn’t say not to be, but try doing some shadow work and see what’s spurring those fears. You might find that your fears are brought in by past experiences rather than present truths.
Here’s the full spread:
And now, a poem:
Spare us the pageantry,
Go forth hero!
Enjoy the summer of passion!
Fear not,
The dog inside is but a shadow.
Conclusion
I have further adventures planned later today, I am sincerely looking forward to regaling you with tales of them. In the meantime, I hope you have an excellent Sunday, and a great week!
I loved the images of a walking orange fish, they looked nice. And happy you had a great week. I hope this week is wonderful too
