To Begin A New Year…
Art, Spirituality and Reflections for Dec. 28, 2025
Hello from a cold and cloudy Southeast Vancouver! We’re just past Boxing Day, so now is the time to wait for the New Year, and set our plans for that. I’ll talk about my new plans later this article.
For now, let’s get into the art!
Art
The biggest thing I accomplished was getting another chapter of Ohmworld up on Webtoon!
I also did some art for a collaboration between myself and fellow webtoon creators. Here’s the piece I did:

Finally I did a couple of gifts! More gift art will likely be done too.
Overall I’m quite proud of these pieces and I’m looking forward to making more to round out and start the new year.
Spirituality
Yule is a very sacred time for us witches! As a Hellenic polytheist, I celebrate a unique variation of the holiday called Heliogenna, which celebrates the return of Helios to our northern hemisphere.
Among the many festivities, I made these orange ornaments:
And this Yule ball.
And finally the week before Yule, I made 7 sigils, 1 per day, which I then burnt on Yule night.
While they do have a grander purpose, I don’t particularly want to try to consciously recall them at this time. Just know that I intend to use the magick, along with good planning and work, to improve my life.
Thoughts
The biggest thing I did this week was set my New Year’s resolutions, which I always do around this time. I normally write 5 resolutions, around a paragraph each, but a mentor of mine asked me to simplify. This time around, I have written 3.
My New Year’s Resolutions 2026
Build on my Knowledge.
I got tutorials from Aaron Blaise as a Winter Solstice gift, and I plan to use it to build on my foundational skills as an artist.
I also plan to read more to build on my sense of storytelling-in general I’ll be a bit quieter about posting openly while I build my skills.
Continue Ohmworld and Animations
I made 2 animated shorts and a few cycles in 2025, and I finished 2 chapters of Ohmworld.
I’m excited about that and want to build on the momentum!
Develop my Friendly Cosmic Witch Persona
I developed my presence as a cosmic witch and whimsygoth quite a bit in 2025-but I want to take the whimsy further. I’m working on a cartoon persona and also on putting myself out there more-I want to be a truly cool witchy artist, while also staying true to myself and good to my loved ones.
To carry out these resolutions, I did a bit more journaling (yay half year reset!) and found some goals that I’d like to pursue:
Ohmworld Comic
Animation Studies/Development
Spiritual Studies/Development
For the Ohmworld comic I think I can continue pursuing my interest. The other two however will take study. Luckily, I recently got some courses and books on my end for just that. Combine it with my planners and journals and I’ll be unstoppable-provided I follow through.
I also set a schedule but I’d rather not post it. Just know I have a plan.
Remember that talent is a pursued interest, in the words of Bob Ross. You get out what you put into it, and if you have a larger goal you want to pursue, simply break it down into manageable steps.
Conclusion
Thank you once again for joining me on this journey. It’s been an interesting and wonderful year, full of surprises. We’re keeping things slow heading into the new year but my hope runs high and I’m sure there’ll be great things to come.
